Rebekah Gould Ep. 1: First time listening to this podcast, although I know I downloaded this a long time ago- whoops! I really liked listening to the FBI (?) lady Jennifer B., she made so much sense. Also I super appreciate that George has such a demure, calm, and level voice. I’m super interested in George’s book too! I hope y’all get in touch :)
I probably would’ve rated this show a 4 but upon learning of and doing my own research to verify the hosts’ treatment of victims and families I just can’t get behind it. Regardless of the hosts’ lack of ethics in both treatment of victims as well as manipulative “investigative tactics”, the show itself is just alright. There’s way better crime podcasts out there if you’re simply looking for entertainment.
This show takes advantage of victims’ families. True crime at its worst!
If you work in true crime, keeping the victims and their families at the center in the most sensitive and respectful way must be the top priority. This is not the case with these hosts. They do not belong in this genre.
NYT just published a piece on these two podcasters. Extremely poor ethics in dealing with victims families.
