I just have one small concern: I wish the volume you use could be louder. I have two good sets of earbuds and I am still having a hard time hearing everything on your podcasts.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

They Said She Was Safe: The Murder of Amanda Dean
Q: Why did the family feel the case was not treated as a missing person from the start?
They were repeatedly told Amanda was safe, and authorities declined to file a missing-person report or share location details, leading the family to seek help from advocacy groups and demand fresh eyes on the case.
The Housewife and the Hex
Q: I brought you this story, you were unfamiliar prior, correct?
Yes, he hadn't encountered this exact Cleveland-era tale before but drew parallels to similar 1930s phenomena and the broader cultural environment around occult practices.
The Housewife and the Hex
Q: Tell me, your name is Stephen Intermill and you're the director of the Buckland Museum of Witchcraft.
Stephen confirms his role and discusses his interest in magical artifacts and the historical context of seminars and beliefs around witchcraft, offering a skeptical yet exploratory perspective.
Justice for Julian: The Witnesses
Q: How does the defense prove mental insanity?
They present expert witness accounts, including evaluations by forensic psychiatrists who discuss the defendant's long history of mental health issues, arguing that she was not able to discern right from wrong during the act.
Justice for Julian: The Witnesses
Q: Why is pleading not guilty by reason of insanity significant in this case?
It's significant because the defense acknowledges the defendant committed the crime but argues she was insane at the time, challenging the jury's interpretation of her mental state.
