  • I've been lucky to listen to this podcast from its start. As a rugby fan, I started with it predominantly for the rugby commentators covered. However, one of the joys for me has been discovering those covering sports that I don't usually pay much attention to. It's fascinating to hear the stories behind their route to the microphone. Nick Heath is a mostly unobtrusive interviewer, letting the interviewee talk. I look forward to this dropping into my inbox.

  • Cue Commentator

A delicious insight into the psyche of the sports commentator, from the ex-pro sportsman/woman transitioning to a new career, to the “born to be” wordsmith who found themselves practicing their match review for BBC Sports Report at the age of 14, whilst leaving the ground with their father. more

  • Fascinating storytelling

The relatively untapped world of the sports commentator is brought to life through the best of the best in broadcasting. They have wonderful stories to share of the sports but from a different angle. The likes of Clive Tyldesley, Miles Harrison, Jon Champion and Ian Darke highlight the dedication, preparation and humanity that goes into commentary, aided by a fantastically engaging and witty host in Nick Heath.
