  • Keep things in check

While being as thrilled as anyone by Bethell’s tremendous knock at Sydney, let’s keep things in perspective before comparisons with some of the greats of the game such as David Gower! A cold water moment to counter some of the OTT plaudits, Bethell has scored 55 runs in 6 first innings (49 of those runs in his 5 first innings at number three). To reiterate i am delighted for him and hope he has a fantastic summer in England. Let’s just keep things in check!

England are an inconsistent team who on their day can beat anyone! I’d suggest success in a WTC Final, qualified for over a two year period, should have been treated far more seriously than p... more
