Become a laughable podcast, no editing already makes it very amateurish then the completely pro India commentary around the T20 WC is very unbecoming. Don’t listen if you want objective analysis

  • Watch out for the insidious advertising

Really like the podcast - but, good God, the unannounced advertising - Betfair, Nord VPN, TNT - is almost like watching a tawdry 80s American romcom full of obvious product placement.

Keep the adverts out of the editorial. I know they pay you money for this legalised lying but your integrity is worth more.

Really like the show, followed Hughes as a player in the 80s & got all his books, both are good with the way they come across. The show about Field of Dreams is fantastic, if one lad stays straight & is a good honest person it’s success.

  • Batting on at Old Trafford

I could not disagree more with the position taken from the contributors on here! The match conditions clearly state BOTH captains have to agree to a draw at the final hour mark. India made the decision to bat on and that is there right! Their paying fans (unlike journalists who get to watch free) wanted to see hundreds from Jadeja and Sundar so why should Gill disappoint them! Just because England’s captain and players, supported by members of the British media, disagree with the decision and pr... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

SOMERSET'S TRIUMPH & QUESTION TIME
Q: Do you think uncapped English players will succeed abroad in India or Australia in the next decade?
They acknowledge it's hard to predict but highlight the need for development pathways and exposure to diverse conditions, suggesting players like Baker or Eddie Jack could adapt, while underscoring the unpredictability of long-term progress.
SOMERSET'S TRIUMPH & QUESTION TIME
Q: Could James Rew open for England, and what are the implications of him keeping wicket if he opened?
They discuss that Rew could theoretically open and keep, but the guests think it would be challenging to manage both roles at international level; they note Rew's strong technical setup and suggest opening might be better pursued with Somerset or England depending on formulas.
SOMERSET'S TRIUMPH & QUESTION TIME
Q: Should England players need to play in Division 1 to have any credibility to be selected?
The hosts suggest that while division one is a strong standard, there should be flexibility to consider standout performers in division two, provided they face quality opposition and deliver consistent runs or wickets.
THE FUTURE OF MIDDLESEX
Q: What did Ben Stokes say about England's approach to the future and how they want to play?
Stokes emphasized that the team aims to win in all situations, moving away from a purely entertainment-focused approach and embracing a mindset that prioritizes performance and results, while acknowledging they won't always be in one fixed style.
HAMEED AT THE READY
Q: What role does county cricket play in preparing for international cricket?
It's a stepping stone that builds resilience and adapts players to different conditions; it's not a replica of international cricket but provides a solid, competitive platform to develop.
