An excellent review as always on the start of the county season. It did dawn on me, based on Ashes events (pre and during), what on earth did Ollie Robinson do to be jettisoned by the England management? The mind boggles!!!
Very surprised and disappointed to hear Booth suggest the current issue regarding Pakistani players at the hundred is a problem of ‘perception’.
How about a problem of xenophobia, discrimination, employment law and of bringing outside geopolitics into sport? The perception is the tip of a very murky and frankly unpalatable iceberg. Yet again the lesson cricket is teaching…..filthy lucre always wins kids!!
The best cricket podcast around. A great modern day representation of the historic Wisden brand. Insightful, thorough and funny when appropriate.
Been listening to these guys for 5 years and at its best when butcher on as he’s the most objective. I find Yas biased towards England so he probably needs to reflect and adjust on that point
Lovely irony from Phil Walker while berating those who still feel a win at the MCG does not make up for a series, we should have won, being lost in 11 days! Calling them “sanctimonious” and “pompous” then suggesting “please go and read a book”! Brilliant! Under the guise that anyone who wants us to get better and win a five test series, let alone an away Ashes series or challenge for the WTC, should go and read a book, does he have any recommendations?
