  • A loose game

Generally enjoy the banter and the broad coverage of the 6 Nations but seriously Goodey - Scotland’s last back to back wins were in 1984? Doesn’t a Grand Slam in 1990 imply back to back wins? Surprised no one picked that up….Jim.

  • A final comment

I previously made comment about the show but nothing has changed. As such I now give and provide this information for new listeners who may wonder what takes place. This is a rough running order for every show assuming a one hour edition…

1st minute to Minute 5 - General discussion about what they all got up to in the previous few days

Minute 5 to Minute 55 - In depth conversation about the English Premiership, discussion about incidents without explanation what they actually were for listeners ... more

  • More and more clickbait

This used to be my absolute favourite rugby podcast, and would listen to it religiously.

However, recently I’ve found more and more of the features to be aimed at clickbait headlines, so that they can put out a statement and get a reaction online to no doubt try to increase their listening figures.

The most recent episode where Rob read out some sensationalist statements and wanted Jim & Goodey to comment is a perfect example, and made me switch off.

I also appreciate the lads need to fund th... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

#31 Springbok Verdict on Six Nations | Domestic Rugby Returns, Glasgow Go Top & Bath Dominate
Q: What did you make of the Six Nations this year, Jean?
Jean highlighted the high quality of rugby and depth across teams, with particular praise for Scotland and France, while noting Ireland's and South Africa's challenges and potential matchups for future World Cups.
#29 Attacking Rugby | Sam Vesty & Dan Biggar Break Down England & Modern Attacks
Q: Right. Let's kick things off with some Six Nations chat then. So England, I want to stick this to you first, Bigs. A lot of fans seem quite frustrated with the way England are attacking at the minute. What's your take on it?
The discussion centers on whether England's attacking game is too conservative or not tuned to their personnel, with emphasis on the need to maintain continuity, reduce unforced errors in the first 20 minutes, and align forwards and backs to a cohesive plan rather than relying on kick-heavy pressure.
#27 Can Scotland Stop France, England Under Pressure In Rome & Paolo Garbisi
Q: Paolo, let's talk about the England game then. Is this your biggest opportunity to beat England?
Garbiši reflects on past results and emphasizes that England remain a very strong team; Italy will need to execute well and prepare thoroughly to have a good game, rather than seeing it as a once-in-a-career opportunity.
#15 European Warriors, Freddie Steward Unfiltered, & 2025 Highlights
Q: Freddie, how hard was the transition from being in and out of the England squad?
It was easily the toughest season I've had in my career, but it taught me a lot and ultimately made me a better player.
#4 Moody’s Battle, Diamond Falls, Autumn Nations Preview, Boks Roll & Dragons Rise
Q: What do you think about the future of rugby coaching roles?
Leicester's situation is intriguing; they have a spine to that team, but they're in transition.
