  • Horrible Interviews

I really want to like this show and to support my local NPR station. However, I usually just send my money to WBUR every month. I feel that Rose Scott’s show is one of the reasons why I hate the local programming. It’s clear she doesn’t carefully research the topics covered on the show or people she interviews. Horrible questions that lack thoughtfulness. She always diverts to personal or comedic questions, but these kinds of questions shouldn’t replace thoughtful, informative journalism.

  • Excellent interviews

I find it amazing how prepared Rose Scott is for every interview, every day. She asks perfect questions that an educated interviewer would ask and a average listener might ask who doesn’t know much about the subject. It’s a great mix.

  • Dope!

Rose is a much needed voice for all of Atlanta! She is always on top of the news that everyday folks really care about. Love her coverage of the 50th anniversary of hip-hop and what that milestone means for the city.

I've lived away from Atlanta for a long time but Dekalb Co will always be home. Rose brings up the tough topics but shares just as many stories about awesome progress. Excellent reporting and storytelling.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Feedback Friday: Should the U.S. withdraw from the war in Iran, or can a deal be reached?
Q: Should the US simply withdraw at this point or pursue a negotiated exit?
Experts emphasize that withdrawal may remove immediate military pressure but could leave a power vacuum and embolden hardline elements; a negotiated path or calibrated exit tied to verifiable conditions, coupled with diplomacy, is viewed as more sustainable than a unilateral withdrawal.
Fulton Commissioner calls Atlanta Mayor’s letter “over the top”; Sur Legal on protecting immigrant workers; Chamblee’s proactive approach to data centers
Q: Why won't Fulton County participate in the NRI as currently proposed?
Barrett clarifies that the county cannot simply extend the TADs or join the mayor's favored terms; she argues for decoupling discussions about ACDC from NRI and for more granular, mutually beneficial negotiations on individual TADs.
Fulton Commissioner calls Atlanta Mayor’s letter “over the top”; Sur Legal on protecting immigrant workers; Chamblee’s proactive approach to data centers
Q: When you got his letter last week, what were your thoughts?
Dana Barrett explains that the mayor's letter glossed over the full story, and she emphasizes how deeply she's analyzed the numbers and her support for collaboration, while criticizing the tone and implications of the letter regarding the jail deal.
What records show about rental properties in mostly Black and white neighborhoods; Book explores impactful life of civil rights champion C. T. Vivian
Q: What does the 43,495 absentee-owned properties figure say about inequality in Atlanta?
It shows a substantial share of properties are owned from outside the neighborhood, indicating wealth flows that can exacerbate local inequality and reinforce segregation in property wealth.
DeKalb Commissioner wants data center impact study; Uncertainty for unaccompanied migrant children as government withholds legal counsel funding
Q: What will happen to children currently represented if funding stops tomorrow?
Many children would lose access to legal representation, jeopardizing their asylum hearings and deadlines, which creates uncertainty and potential mass outcomes.
