  • Bad sound quality

The announcements between segments are okay, but the actual segments themselves are at such low volume that I cannot hear them in the environment in which I am trying to listen to the show. It’s one of those things that makes me wonder, Do the people producing this even listen to the final product?

  • Poor Journalism

This show is great for keeping up with Alabama politics. Don gets into the nitty gritty on interesting political issues in the state. However, the show is so incredibly one sided, it can almost seem satiric. Don doesn’t give any of his republican guests any pushback and asks the most softball, leading questions. So, beware. Listen with a critical ear because this show is responsible for spreading some serious misinformation.

Q: What does the closed primary bill aim to achieve and how would it work in practice?
It aims to ensure voters participate in primaries with clear alignment to party platforms by requiring registration with a party either online or on primary day, with a 60-day blackout window before the primary before the next party switch, and it allows immediate voting in a chosen party's primary, which then registers the voter with that party.

Q: What is your take on the Raise Act and its implementation for funding student needs?
The Act redirects funds based on student need and specific demographics, which should better target resources but requires careful management to avoid instability in districts as eligibility and funding levels adjust.
August 29, 2025
Q: Senator Albritton, how is the Education Trust Fund expected to fare going into this budgeting year?
It's going to be challenging but not a blowout; costs are rising in health insurance for educators and other education-related expenses, so we need to carefully balance potential raises with the demand for other services.
August 8, 2025
Q: What were the latest developments on education funding and NIH grants for Alabama, and how did the administration respond?
The funds were unfrozen after pressure from several Alabama senators; Britt led a letter to urge release, and NIH funds were also released after similar advocacy, with note that a robust plan and collaborations with Washington helped secure the funds.
July 18, 2025
Q: How will you differentiate yourself from your opponent while keeping the campaign clean?
By highlighting my track record, integrity, and a clear plan for election security and business services, while urging a clean campaign pledge and relying on verifiable experience in public service.
