  • Love this podcast

I try to listen to you guys every week. You are funny and keep me informed about what is going on in Alabama. I also read your columns Thanks guys for making my Fridays entertaining and informative. Even though Josh is a tiger fan. Sorry I’m not a fan of the Tide either or football in general. Seriously, I think our country is in trouble. You guys make me feel optimistic that there are still good people in the US who are not members of a cult. I’m too old to move to another country

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Doug Jones on Tuberville, Data Centers and the Fight for Alabama
Q: What is the core strategy for your campaign as you contrast with Tuberville?
Doug Jones says the core message is to offer a bipartisan, constructive alternative focused on practical governance—healthcare costs, education, wages, and job creation—while highlighting Tuberville's divisiveness and residency issues to energize and mobilize voters who want steady leadership.
Poarch Creek Indians CEO on Gaming, God, and Growing an Empire (w/ Stephanie Bryan)
Q: What do you say to fellow Christians who oppose gambling in Alabama?
Bryan explains that gambling is a complex issue tied to entertainment, revenue, and voter choice; she supports letting the people vote and emphasizes that benefits like scholarships and roads come from revenues kept in-state, rather than imposing a morality-based prohibition.
DNC to Alabama Democrats: Do It Over (Again) (w/ Jeanice Warden-Washington)
Q: What is the real motivation behind California's redistricting proposal in response to Texas, and how could it affect federal representation?
The guest explains that California's ACA8 and Senate Bill 280 aim to adjust districts to counterbalance perceived advantages in Texas, while maintaining a voter-approved process; the goal is to potentially increase Democratic seats in Congress, but the plan hinges on fast-track approval and public support.
DNC to Alabama Democrats: Do It Over (Again) (w/ Jeanice Warden-Washington)
Q: Clarification on the UCLA funding and the Trump administration's actions: what is the latest status and what is the broader significance?
The NSF funding was ordered to be restored by a federal judge, and UCLA's funding concerns are framed as part of broader federal attempts to pressure universities on diversity and enrollment data, with ongoing debates about the scope and timing of these actions.
His Wife Gave Him a Kidney. Now He Has Three (w/ Rep. Anthony Daniels)
Q: What happened with the campaign-finance concerns around the state auditor?
The hosts discuss a shell-game-like pattern where donations, a private company, and advertising deals intersect, raising ethical and potentially legal questions that merit investigation.
