I have been on a wonderful journey into this book, from the poetry of the titles of magic tricks to the entrepreneurial nature of Victorian publishing, from the transformation of the magician’s discipline to the clarity of writing non-fiction. I feel I am participating in this conversation too, and the research behind the story reveals so much breadth and interest. A magic box in itself.
I enjoy the friendly dialogue between Anna and Judith. Their curiosity around the history of authors, books and their origins is contagious.
Excellent & engaging historical stories - even interested me as a non book person.
