  • Great pod but…

I love this pod esp because of Sarah Cox. She’s such a natural ❤️Esp like the listeners’ choices as I always come away with lots of ideas for new books.

Totally unnecessary and utterly distracting. Please stop! Let’s just listen to the guest without annoying layered noise! Thank you. Apart from this, it’s s... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

'The Murder At World's End' by Ross Montgomery
Q: Is this the start of a new series?
Yes, this is the debut book in the Stockingham and Pike series, which will follow them on historical adventures.
'The Murder At World's End' by Ross Montgomery
Q: Are you one of those authors who has to know everything about the time period they're writing in? Did you do a lot of research for this book?
I did a lot of research, and initially, I was grudging about it. However, I learned how significant and transformative that period was, especially with social changes looming.
'The Murder At World's End' by Ross Montgomery
Q: How does it feel to have it out in the world?
It's a massive relief for a star. This is my first adult fiction, and I nearly didn't realize how tricky writing a murder mystery would be.
'A Splintering' by Dur e Aziz Amna
Q: What made you want to explore Tara's desires?
Amna reflects on the extreme inequality felt in society and the envy that social media breeds, leading her to create a character driven by desire.
Dawn O'Porter (recorded at Radio 2 In The Park)
Q: I just wondered, just your husband Chris O'Dowd, do you speak to him about the characters? Does he get to have a first read and critique your work?
Chris doesn't read the book until they're published and out and in book form. I'm really secretive.
