These folks have such delightful fun that it’s infectious—the end of all things has never seemed so enjoyable. For example: this is the first time that “The Night Land” made me laugh. Pass the nitrous. :D >>>> PS Another great thing the hosts gave me was “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” a series I’d never heard of; it’s a hoot (thanks to my local library I am on season 3 on DVD).
I’m relistening to the whole apocalist (so far) again and I’m always struck by how great it is. I love Nella and Raven’s hot takes and—though I try not to get too parasocially attached to podcasters—they sound just like my friends and I do when we’re talking about weird books (something I miss dearly from college). I cannot wait to listen to more and in the meantime I’ll be relistening again and again! Thank you for making this podcast that’s so specifically for me!!
I’m absolutely loving this premise and the presenters Raven and Nella are pure gold! Currently listening to episode 20 and cackling (as a Canadian) about finally getting to be the baddies. I know the ladies were confused as to why the author mentioned Canadians as great fighters, but in WW1 (after which this novel was written), Canadian veterans were kind of badass (at Vimy Ridge, for example) and got a LOT of VCs. Anyway, LOVING the appocalist and waiting eagerly for season 2!!!
The hosts have a great chemistry, and clearly have fun with the project. Additionally, this show makes a great binge listen due to the timeline and changing cultural scenes/times for each novel. Excited for more episodes!
This podcast is calm, funny, and informative. Even if you’re only a casual fan of apocalypse stories like me, you’ll enjoy this. Love both the hosts and their chemistry!
