  • Absolutely the best help against addiction

I dont want to sound exaggerated about this, but I hate porn addiction and it's consequences with a passion, but didn't believe I would be able to lose it. I thought it was a part of me and I would have to fight against it forever. Mari and Thomas proved my thoughts wrong in the most honest and empowering way possible.

I had a great convo with Thomas on whatsapp, also very empowering and helpful!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

361. The Reality of Porn Addiction is Not Glamourous - Writing a Remember Letter
Q: I've written a remember letter that I think is pretty good, covering everything I've felt during a relapse, but I'm worried I've put in too much information about the compulsive behaviours themselves.
The host acknowledges the concern and explains that the remember letter should focus on the past loss of control and the psychological cycle, not glamorizing the behaviours; it should be grounded in the reality of being unable to make rational choices and frame relapse as a past experience to reduce future cravings.
319. The Aikido Principle That Makes Stopping Porn More Enjoyable
Q: How does the Beyond Compulsion method translate into daily practice for someone facing urges?
The method treats urges as opportunities to engage the script, correct thinking, and create lasting neural changes, reducing fear around triggers and enabling a more fluid recovery.
319. The Aikido Principle That Makes Stopping Porn More Enjoyable
Q: Could you explain the Aikido principle a little more and how it applies to recovery?
Mari describes using the addictive mind's energy against it, letting the thoughts speak so they can be corrected with a script, and then channeling that momentum to rewire neural pathways toward healthier choices.
269. Ever Asked "Have I Relapsed?"
Q: What exactly counts as a relapse in this framework?
Relapse isn't a single moment but a pattern of mindless, compulsive thinking that pulls you into helplessness. The recommended response is to disengage from such questioning and use the script to make an immediate, present-mocused choice that supports ongoing recovery.
257. The Wrong Measure of Success in the Short Term
Q: Any thoughts on that first point about the 10 days clean and the change in cravings?
Mari emphasizes that counting days is a limited metric and that true change comes from confronting and processing desires, with long-term rewiring of neural pathways rather than just maintaining a streak.
