  • Best factual podcast around

The Sherzais have nailed evidence-based podcasting. Relevant and usually complex topics explained succinctly without losing laser focus on the facts. Delivered accessibly, no preaching. Outstanding.

  • Really important information!

This is an amazing podcast, everyone should listen to it! I

Am working my way back to the beginning, and slipping back and forth to the episodes I think I want to hear before others, and Drs. A. and D. are amazing teachers, explaining in easy to understand language scientific concepts and research that would otherwise be incredibly complicated! And my favorite parts is that they offer real life tips to overcome potential, or actual, brain health issues! Thank you for all you do!!

  • Very good, but…..

Hey there! If you’re into health and related topics, this podcast is definitely worth checking out.

Now, I’ve got a small gripe with one thing that made this podcast only get one star. It’s the constant bashing of another health influencer.

If we all worked together in the healthcare industry, we could make sure everyone understood and followed the right measures. But if we keep dividing, it only benefits the big corporations in the food and pharmaceutical industries.

Instead of focusing on c... more

  • Grief Episode

Kudos for clarifying that Kubler Ross’s work - the 5 stages - was for the dying. Anticipatory Grieving, not the bereaved. This episode contains such excellent accurate info, I strongly urge those whom are hurting from loss to listen to this episode. It is a path to healing, like the other episodes on other issues, is so informative. I love this podcast, but grieving myself, this has been my favorite. And btw, as a person facing a fatal disease, watching the molecules of my life slipping away, Ku... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Your Brain On... Menopause Hormone Therapy
Q: What are the risks of over-testing or chasing every new study?
Over-testing can lead to iatrogenic issues and confusion; tests should answer a specific clinical question, not be done without clear purpose; clinicians should focus on high-quality evidence and clinical context when ordering tests.
Your Brain On... Menopause Hormone Therapy
Q: What should patients do if they feel dismissed by a clinician or see conflicting information online?
Seek unbiased information from professional societies (NAMs, Australasian MEN, etc.), bring guideline documents to appointments, consider consulting a menopause-certified practitioner, and advocate for data-backed decisions rather than marketing claims.
Your Brain On... Menopause Hormone Therapy
Q: Does MHT prevent dementia or Alzheimer's disease?
Current guidelines do not support using menopause hormone therapy as a preventive measure for Alzheimer's disease; evidence is not conclusive delaying dementia or cognitive decline, and decisions should be individualized within a broader health context.
Your Brain On... Menopause Hormone Therapy
Q: Who is menopause hormone therapy actually for and who would benefit the most?
MHT is the gold standard for hot flashes and night sweats and helps reduce osteoporosis risk in high-risk individuals; suitability depends on age, symptoms, and specific risk factors like family history and smoking, with careful consideration and testing (e.g., DEXA) to assess osteoporosis risk.
Your Brain On... Cheese
Q: What is your general message about the results of this paper to the public as they try to understand how they need to improve their dietary patterns for their brain health?
It's important for people not to focus on one particular thing like cheese alone, but rather to aim for a healthy overall lifestyle including maintaining weight and exercising.
