Each episode, one of the boys presents an overlooked film they love, and tries to convince the other of its misunderstood genius. The two debate its merits and discuss how it was made and whether it belongs in the pantheon of cinematic greats. You Should Watch This with Ed and Simon began as a series of drunken conversations between two film-loving friends who were constantly recommending forgotte... more

Ed Hime absolutely adores The Other Guys (2010). And who can blame him. Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell give grandstanding comedic performances as the mismatched cops on the hunt for a white-collar criminal which serves as the jumping off point for di... more
A real gem of an Italian movie is on offer in this instalment of You Should Watch This. Simon pitches Elio Petri's Investigation of a Citizen Above Suspicion - an enthralling political satire which isn't so much a whodunit as a "whydunit". The police... more
Tim Burton's first feature as director sees the eponymous Pee-wee Herman on a road trip to recover his beloved lost bike in one of the strangest "kids" movies ever made. For Simon the film has so many associations with his childhood, from Large Marge... more

I learned a little more about Ray Liotta today, and a lotta more about costume designer Norma Moriceau. Really engaging, informative and funny podcast. Despite not knowing the film before, I finished up with a strong sense of it (without the feeling that I'd had its major plot points gutted out). I look forward to finding out about more overlooked hits & near-misses with this pair. Not sure what the beef with Wes Anderson was about though.
You couldn’t ask for better, livelier company thinking and talking about these films. It’s a brilliantly curated series, too. I found myself thinking how rare it is to hear two funny, informed, clever friends sharing their enthusiasm for something, as opposed to their contempt for it. It’s an all around pleasure-only three episodes in and I’m already looking forward to it each week.
Yes, inspiring! Not quite like a TED talk... rather than become a microfinance entrepreneur, just makes you want to watch these great movies again - or for the first time even, though maybe not recommended that way around. Keep up the quality, looking forward to this journey!
Ps. Michael Kimino = Michael “Chi mee no” :)
If you're a movie fan this entertaining and informative podcast is a must listen - whether you've seen the films under discussion or not. It reminded me of BBC Radio 4's Saturday Review - a good thing - but it's funnier and has the time to discuss each film in welcome depth.
