As much as I love the podcast, the meandering tangents really spoil it for me. Was really looking forward to the Project Hail Mary episode and Mark talked more about Silent Running than PHM. The same with ONE BATTLE AFTER ANOTHER. It was barely mentioned.
Couldn’t agree more. I remember the sense of disappointment I felt when I saw this. Seems that Kubrick could handle big themes magnificently but when it comes down to the personal he flunked it.

Great pod, glad Jack is back. Funny and engaging reviews etc.,
Love the conversations, but to have not just sentences interrupted by ads but sometimes they start in the middle of a word, is just so jarring. I understand the need for ads but can you at least edit them in at a natural break in the conversation?
Sorry to say that I have gone right off this podcast. The last episode about the BAFTAs is actually a nauseating back and forth between the hosts, lots of false modesty and ego massage. There is nothing relevant or insightful or really interesting that emanates from these conversations. It’s quite tedious. Such a shame as I am a fan of Mark.
