我绝没有想到《现代因果实录》出版后，立即受到各地同修们的欢迎，相继翻印，许多地方一版再版。尽管我在“缘起”的最后说明了“鉴于诸多不便，我隐去了书中所涉人物的真实姓名与地点”，但仍有不少人没有看明白内容就急于去五台山寻访妙法老和尚，结果既劳力又伤财，这不是我的本意。后来又有不少人致电致信开封佛学社询问妙法老和尚住地，佛学社在再版时不得不在书后加上了“事是真实事，名是虚化名，因果警世人，无须觅师踪”的告示，但仍有去五台山和天津寻访的。这些读者尽管相信佛法，却是一味地向外求，就是真的见到妙法老和尚也未必能获益。 令人可喜的是，有不少读者在阅读《现代因果实录》明白了道理的同时，对照自己所造之业，决心改正，结果在内心生起忏悔心的同时，身上的病苦竟突然好了，或减轻了许多。还有一些未断荤腥的读者，阅读此书后始知吃荤腥罪业深重，即刻断除，未曾想几个月后不仅身体日复一日健康，皮肤也变得白皙了，人显... more
