A way to generate a happier life through compassion. Love hearing these conversations because they are such nuggets of wisdom and i get excited about how i can embody in my life to be calmer and a kinder more loving human being
As someone a bit wary of the NKT, I am both disappointed and not surprised to see the lineup of guests can be a bit… samey (i.e., in-group converts, mostly white). There is much more to “modern Buddhism” than what can be found in a group hellbent on not reforming a longstanding practice that disparages other Buddhists. This is what the Buddha called “attachment to views, intoxication with views.” Still, there is some nice commentary to be found, as there is in less culty corners too.
It is so good to listen to theses episodes. They may be a reminder or even give different perceptions.
With this podcast I’m learning how to be a better version of myself. I learn to control my emotions, thoughts, my mind and this body in this life. Words like karma, happiness, delightment, liberation, Nirvana take on their full meaning. Thank you very much for all these benedictions 🙏🏾
