  • Wanted to like, but the guest isn’t allowed to talk apparently

These people need to learn how to interview somebody. My favorite author is on and I wanted to hear her speak, but she’s barely allowed.

  • Can’t get enough!

Recently found this podcast and can’t get enough! It’s my new favorite thing to listen to while on my long walks, doing laundry, meal prepping, just literally anytime I can have this podcast on, it’s going on! Neely and Rachel are so good at making it feel like I’m listening to friends talking about their lives and the books they love and their interview style is so relaxed and fun! They’ve also introduced me to so many good books! God bless Carter Beckett!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Ep 128: So Many Words About the Bachelor | Interview with Dr. Jodi McAlister
Q: What makes you decide, like, why dark romance? And then why, like, specifically love me, stalk me?
It's dark, but I like to say that it's like dark light, you know, like the free versions of apps where they're like, it's L-I-T-E.
Ep 125: I’ve Got More Trauma! | Interview with Lauren Okie
Q: Did you have any hesitations about tackling this or was it really just like, this is the way that I need to process through some of the things that I've been through?
The chief hesitation came later, realizing the book's unique subject matter might not appeal to the broader market, but I felt the need to tell my story honestly.
Ep 121: A Little Bit Country, A Little Bit Rock ‘N Roll | Interview with Hunter Snow
Q: Would you ever want your books turned into a show or a movie?
Absolutely, I would love it. And I think this one would be funny. Gone Country.
Ep 121: A Little Bit Country, A Little Bit Rock ‘N Roll | Interview with Hunter Snow
Q: What made you decide specifically to write romance?
I love, I mean, there's nothing I love more than a rom-com. It's what I read too, right? So, I mean, that's just, I've always read in that genre.
Ep 119: Roll the Dice! | Interview with Emily Giffin
Q: What is a have to read book you always tell people about?
A pivotal book for me was 'A Member of the Wedding' by Carson McCullers.
