  • Solid Movie Podcast

I love movie podcasts, and this one is fun because it’s two guys NOT in the industry (unlike Blank Check or How Did This Get Made). They can get pretty far off topic sometimes, but it’s always obvious how much they genuinely love movies, and that passion is infectious. Plus, their perspective of well informed “normal” people (as opposed to critics, actors, etc.) hits a nice niche that I imagine is relatable to most of the people listening to film podcasts. They’re not experts, but they know and ... more

  • I like it generally

I generally like this podcast, and I think they’ve grown a lot... but I just listened to a few minutes of the Beetlejuice episode and am surprised how rude the ginger is to the guest. Again, I’m thinking some growth has taken place since it was recorded back in summer 2019. But it’s disappointing to hear, since I like the movie Beetlejuice and would’ve enjoyed hearing an episode about it. But I won’t listen to the rest of that; I’m barely 12 minutes in. The ginger podcaster’s tone was exasperate... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Protocol (D.C. Onscreen, Part 3)
Q: What did you think of Protocol?
It is very filmed in DC, which I appreciated. I think I would have liked this movie a lot more without the massive amounts of anti-Arab racism that characterize most of this movie.
Venom (2018) (Summer of Superheroes, Part 6)
Q: Do you find the romance of Venom believable?
Surprisingly so. I was really not expecting to come into this believing it.
Venom (2018) (Summer of Superheroes, Part 6)
Q: What did you think of Venom, a movie I assume you did not see in 2018?
I enjoyed it a lot more than I expected to.
Mystery Men (Summer of Superheroes, Part 9)
Q: Marc, what did you think of Mystery Men?
It's a weird movie. I like certain parts of it. It didn't work as a whole for me.
Mystery Men (Summer of Superheroes, Part 9)
Q: Colin, what did you think of Mystery Men upon finally seeing it?
It was everything I thought it would be. It was terrible.
