Great show John! Keep up the good work!! You are spot on about keeping the Great Highway open. 17,000 to 20,000 cars a day use the highway. The city officials supporting the closure need to be voted out!

  • So happy to find your podcast!

I frequently listened to your show on KGO when commuting home and was extremely disappointed when they changed formats. You’ve were always fair to your callers and a reasonable voice in SF Bay Area talk radio.

SF put down 500 dogs last year. Why does the SFSPCA oppose a mandatory spay and neuter law?
Q: Susan, what exactly is being proposed by the Public Safety Committee regarding dog spay/neuter, and who would be affected?
The proposal would extend mandatory spay/neuter to all dogs entering the shelter system, with exceptions for medical issues and AKC breeders, shifting away from the current focus on pit bulls.
Local Voices, Local Control with Nils Nehrenheim from Our Neighborhood Voices!
Q: What has been the response from the political establishment to your efforts?
The establishment largely opposes the initiative, which makes the effort feel like a nuclear option to reclaim local authority.
Local Voices, Local Control with Nils Nehrenheim from Our Neighborhood Voices!
Q: How do state policies affect your local zoning efforts in Redondo Beach and San Francisco?
State-level changes push up zoning requirements that can override local plans, making it harder to preserve community character, which is why local control is crucial.
Local Voices, Local Control with Nils Nehrenheim from Our Neighborhood Voices!
