  • The most valuable creator-centric podcast out there

I’ve listened in the past when they had a few different hosts and that version of the show was good. Not great. I wasn’t compelled week after week to listen.

Well, It’s great now! Travis, along with Dan, Jenn, Tori, and Rob bring consistently excellent discussions about things facing creators to the forefront in each episode. I only started listening again in February 2026 and have just been binging episode after episode. No nonsense advice, thoughtful discussions, and interviews with YouTubers... more

After listening to approximately one gazillion episodes over time, I finally came to do a review because I was reminded by Travis to do so in his call to action at the very moment I was parking my car - an... more

How JackSucksAtLife Built A Career By Chasing YouTube’s Hidden Systems
Q: How did you go from Minecraft to a broader set of channels and topics?
I experimented with related formats that could ride the existing audience's interest, such as Fiverr campaigns and a Reddit series, then gradually moved into other niches like Geography with GeoGuessr when the audience showed engagement.
Tommy G Explains How He Finds Dangerous Stories And Brings Them To Camera
Q: How do you handle monetization versus ethical storytelling when dealing with controversial topics?
He emphasizes balance between narrative integrity and revenue, noting that most videos remain profitable and that he donates a portion of proceeds to charity when appropriate, while ensuring content remains informative and responsible.
Tommy G Explains How He Finds Dangerous Stories And Brings Them To Camera
Q: How do you approach the safety and legality of filming dangerous subjects?
He uses pre-interviews, FaceTime checks, and careful risk assessment, while editing to avoid sensationalism, aiming for a fair, educational depiction without enabling harm.
How Dodford Turns Interviews Into Full Stories
Q: Why do you rely on Patreon as part of your income, and how does it fit into your creative strategy?
Patreon provides predictable, scalable income and a platform to deliver behind-the-scenes content and value to dedicated fans, which aligns with my aim of creating ongoing, meaningful work rather than chasing volatile ad revenue alone.
How Dodford Turns Interviews Into Full Stories
Q: How do you balance aiming for a strong narrative with not over-collecting or over-sharing a subject's life?
I focus on a specific angle and essential moments that support that thesis, avoiding the temptation to cover every aspect of a subject's life; this keeps the documentary tight and more authentic.
