  • How about “how to ripoff parents”

PAAM creates FOMO in pressuring parents to sign up, and then even if you need to cancel, or move a class; they charge you $40.

So, yeah the email marketing is working for sure! But maybe not in the right way.

If you need to cancel a class, or your child is too scared to go into dance for anxiety reasons even for the first class, they don’t refund any $. So, for example, 6 dance classes cost X, and even if your child doesn’t go into the class and take one class, they will keep half of X and ... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Beyond Dance: Programs That Transform Students
Q: Why do you market your studio as a school rather than a studio, and how do parents respond?
Positioning as a school shifts the perception from a transactional service to an educational curriculum; parents see it as a partnership with teachers and value the consistent, curriculum-driven approach that benefits their child's whole development.
Beyond Dance: Programs That Transform Students
Q: What advice would you give to studio owners who want to start a program like WINGS or confidence coaching?
Start by identifying a dedicated confidence coach or teen-therapy contact, reach out to experts, and begin with a pilot (e.g., fifth graders) before scaling. Build partnerships with specialists, delegate tasks, and create journaling and classroom integration to embed the practices.
Beyond Dance: Programs That Transform Students
Q: What ages is this program for?
It's for ages six and up, covering first grade through high school, with age-appropriate adaptations for activities in each subject to keep participation engaging across the different developmental stages.
How Studio Owners Can Use AI It to Save Time and Create More
Q: What tools would you recommend a studio start using first to document systems with AI?
Start with a single, high-impact prompt to list core systems (staff, facilities, marketing, customer communication, health and safety) and then progressively document each area with more detailed prompts to capture steps and responsibilities.
Derick Grant On The Identity Shift Every Leader Has To Make
Q: What would you say to someone who feels inadequate or egotistical for pursuing a new identity and setting boundaries?
Healthy narcissism is about believing you're capable of more while avoiding the trap of denying others' value. Healing past narratives and understanding yourself deeply enables you to set boundaries without diminishing your light or others' growth.
