  • How about “how to ripoff parents”

PAAM creates FOMO in pressuring parents to sign up, and then even if you need to cancel, or move a class; they charge you $40.

So, yeah the email marketing is working for sure! But maybe not in the right way.

If you need to cancel a class, or your child is too scared to go into dance for anxiety reasons even for the first class, they don’t refund any $. So, for example, 6 dance classes cost X, and even if your child doesn’t go into the class and take one class, they will keep half of X and ... more

Derick Grant On The Identity Shift Every Leader Has To Make
Q: What would you say to someone who feels inadequate or egotistical for pursuing a new identity and setting boundaries?
Healthy narcissism is about believing you're capable of more while avoiding the trap of denying others' value. Healing past narratives and understanding yourself deeply enables you to set boundaries without diminishing your light or others' growth.
Derick Grant On The Identity Shift Every Leader Has To Make
Q: How do you handle the friction of growth and not take it personally when you're in the messy middle?
Treat friction as a symptom, not a personal failing. Maintain awareness of what you need to let go of, ask the right questions, and use intentionality to steer toward your desired future rather than reacting defensively to pressure.
Derick Grant On The Identity Shift Every Leader Has To Make
Q: Tell me what in your work that you've seen, what separates people who experience success for a season from people who sustain success for decades?
The key is self-worth; people outpace their belief in what they deserve. Those who sustain growth continually align their actions with a belief in their own worth, and they address past limiting narratives that would otherwise sabotage long-term progress.
The Risk That Nearly Cost Everything… But Changed Everything
Q: How much of your studio is still being held together in your head right now?
The guest emphasizes the importance of translating internal understandings into structured systems and clear, repeatable processes, so leadership and team members can embody the brand consistently, not just the owner. They recommend practical steps like deep value definitions, training on community presence, and ensuring the brand experience is lived by the team.
Posting Trendy Reels Doesn't Enroll Students – Here's What Does!
Q: What changes when a studio makes that shift and starts to build a content system?
Confidence improves, there's less burnout, and studios learn what successful content looks like for them, making consistency easier.
