  • Superb!

“Where pop culture intersects with our Christian faith” - bang on! Finally a podcast that explores this in a way that is insightful, articulate and unapologetic in its delivery.

  • Exceptional

I’m not consistent at searching for content about pop culture through a Christian lens mostly because I’ve found it challenging to find podcasts completely lacking a sanctimonious tone. This podcast seems to make it a point to find reasons to look at content critically and argue, “this is why this is a part of The Kingdom.” I love that. Saying, “ yes, you belong,” vs. “you don’t,” is part of Christ’s message to us. It’s not for me to say who carries The Message but I feel like I hear the message... more

I love the variety of the topics and recommendations. The contributors have wonderful insights and I want to be friends with all of them. The episodes equip and encourage me to have deeper conversations with the things most people are talking about anyway.

Does Vampire Weekend’s ‘Only God Was Above Us’ Preach Resignation or Rest?
Q: What would you say, Abby, about the album cover and its significance?
It gives itself into a feeling of chaos, and a feeling of you can only do so much in certain situations.
Does Vampire Weekend’s ‘Only God Was Above Us’ Preach Resignation or Rest?
Q: Do you think it's something like despair, or is this maybe something like a giving over to God?
There's kind of this sense of resignation, of like, we all kind of are committing our specific expressions of sin in this day.
The Resurgence of Devil Movies (A Christian Defense of Horror Part VI)
Q: Did you find this to be shameless mining of IP, a worthy new horror entry, or something more mid-lane in between?
It is an excellent movie that doesn't need to exist.
The Resurgence of Devil Movies (A Christian Defense of Horror Part VI)
Q: What nudges you to actually go ahead and check one out?
I think it could be a particular type, and also if people are talking about it, I do really like when they try to make like older or less known horror known for more audiences.
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes and the Gospel of Caesar
Q: Is there just seeds here? Is there some good stuff to kind of dig into?
Yeah, I think for me it's a little bit more of social commentary.
