  • Sound Quality

The sound quality in both the first and second episodes are horrible. It’s almost too hard to listen to but the information being presented is great. Hopefully it gets better in the more recent episodes.

As a new UX Designer, I wish there was a way to fix these two episodes because they are full of good information.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

#182 - Tyler Wells: It’s Way More Expensive to Talk About Building Now
Q: What was the moment you realized this could be productized and scale beyond a small prototype?
The moment came when agents began producing meaningful, higher-level outputs after moving from auto-complete to using pseudo-specifications written by human PMs. This allowed BrainGrid to evolve from a concept into a scalable platform capable of turning ideas into detailed specs, tasks, and integrated workflows across tools like Cursor and Cloud Code.
#182 - Tyler Wells: It’s Way More Expensive to Talk About Building Now
Q: Can you walk me through the origin story of your company?
The origin lies in taking a prior venture through winding down while continuing to ship for existing customers. They realized early AI agents could be integrated into a system that transforms user ideas into structured specifications, leading to BrainGrid's genesis as a tool that acts as a planning agent and product manager, grounding AI in the codebase and workflows to produce AI-ready specifications and tasks.
#183 Eric Ries - Why Good Companies Go Bad & How Great Companies Stay Great
Q: Eric, I want to respect your time. What do you feel like hasn't been said that should be said on the record before we sign off?
Ries emphasizes concrete examples and a practical blueprint for building incorruptible organizations, highlighting the role of mission-driven governance and long-term incentives, and steering founders toward structures that protect the enterprise's core values against investor pressure and short-termism.
#178 - Tim Beattie: The Consulting Model Incentivizes Going Slower
Q: What are the practical first steps a company can take to start implementing this outcome-driven approach?
Start with why and define initial target outcomes and measures. Use facilitation to create a safe space for collaboration, capture learnings digitally, and build an operating system around outcomes and measures. Begin with small experiments and gradually expand as teams experience value.
#178 - Tim Beattie: The Consulting Model Incentivizes Going Slower
Q: How can consulting firms operate differently and still satisfy client needs, especially under a new enablement paradigm?
The answer centers on shifting from time-and-materials or fixed-price contracts to shared outcomes, enablement, and long-term capability transfer. Firms should act as trusted advisors, enable client teams, and use AI and digital capture to scale learnings and outcomes, rather than just delivering a one-off project.
