  • I really enjoy this one, usually listening on dog walks :) The conversational mode with humor and finding out about how people started out writing, some about who they are as people, and their experiences writing everything from mystery to sports romance to time travel, is fun to listen to! The hosts have a great free flow interaction with authors and it’s just really enjoyable and never boring. Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

LLMs for the Assist with MJ Caan
Q: What are you finding to be the best bang for your buck in marketing right now?
Amazon ads currently offer strong value for exposure, but newsletters continue to drive sales effectively, often outperforming paid ads when used consistently and integrated with a broader strategy.
LLMs for the Assist with MJ Caan
Q: What do you think your author's superpower is?
The ability to pivot and try new things without fear, treating change as a chance for growth rather than a risk, which keeps作品 evolving and relevant.
Spoken AI Narration with Philip Marshall
Q: How does Spoken handle multi-voice narration and character voice consistency?
They analyze the manuscript, derive starting voices for each character, and provide a lexicon for pronunciations; then they allow adjustments and pick from a library of voices or create custom voices, with ongoing quality checks.
Putting Pen to Paper with Susan Wiggs
Q: How do you manage writing process across long projects with editors and publishers involved?
She pitches the project to her agent and editor early, uses a brainstorming writing group for feedback, and remains flexible with endings, sometimes changing course based on editor and reader input.
Putting Pen to Paper with Susan Wiggs
Q: What is your approach to writing endings when you begin a new book?
She starts with a kernel of an idea and then works out beginning, middle, and end, but often tests it with her literary agent and editor, iterating until the ending fits with the research and emotional arc she's aiming for.
