An informative and entertaining podcast with an adorable host. Thx for the show.
James D is a really good narrator especially because he acknowledges his mistakes in a humorous way. His research is very detailed and he really gives a good sense of the entire era.
Brilliant clear and perspicacious history podcast. Thank you.
I've been looking for info on Timur as a part of a trip to Central Asia. It's hard to come by, podcast-wise - until now. James' engaging storytelling, clarity on fact vs myth vs what we don't know is myth or fact, and touches of humor add up to a fascinating listen. He goes wat in-depth, but the show notes tell you where you're at in history, so you can skip around if you're interested in a specific era. I look forward to immersing myself in the lands of Timur with this enriching listen!
To me, Timur was just an historical footnote. This podcast does a fantastic job bringing his story to life.
