The story of Byzantium is so poetic and epic.
This picks up right where history of Rome leaves you. I mean who wants to be stuck watching a train crash only half way complete? I want to see the complete train crash start to finish!! Of course the train is the Roman Empire and the crash is the 1000 year long slow mo tow stub into a face plant fall
Robin Pierson is an absolute master of the craft. His presentation of the story of the Eastern Roman Empire is engaging, entertaining, educational. It rewards second, third, and fourth re-listens. I recommend it even if you have no interest in Byzantium. By the end, you will. I am a Patreon supporter and just sent a bonus on the occasion of “Not with a Whimper but a Bang.” My highest possible recommendation.
So sad I have reached the end, but what a journey. To anyone wondering if it’s worth their time to start this from the beginning, it is. And it will stay with you.
