Wow. Just. Wow. I wish I had Terri when I was in my teens and twenties but I’m glad I found her in my thirties! Her books are phenomenal and well written. Her podcast episodes are relevant and validating. She’s the therapist you need in between sessions with your therapist!
Every point was spot on for me; the guilt, the shame, the over explaining, the wasted bandwidth. I am addicted to saying yes when I want to say no. I am so scared of boundaries and whenever anyone gives me push back I cave because I second guess by telling myself it’s harmless they just want to know how I am feeling on a deep level and they care about me so I should tell them everything.
