Living and breathing the mountains I feel a new urgency for the climate crisis - but I also feel overwhelmed and don't know where to begin. In the Sustainability Dialogues I ask leading sustainability expert Dr. Johan Rockström questions about the carbon crisis, extreme weather, veganism, electric cars, glaciers... Johan, although knowing all the most up to date science somehow Johan is able to be... more

In today’s episode, Johan Rockström and myself are talking about food, which is surely one of the biggest debates in the climate crisis, one with so many conflicting arguments of what is the right thing to do but as always Johan brings clear and mana... more
In todays episode, Johan Rockström and myself are going to look at Transportation, this was recorded pre-corona lockdown, so I think some of our mindsets have already shifted a lot, but everything we discuss from electric cars, bio fuels, batteries, ... more
In today's episode we start talking about a subject very close to my heart - the glaciers and the poles, which leads us down so many roads; from drinking water to sea level rise, geo-political security and the ascent of right wing populism all of whi... more
In episode two, Johan and I discuss the Climate Crisis & Covid 19 and how they are inextricably interlinked. From the rise of zoonosis - diseases spread from animals to humans - to fossil fuels and the aviation industry, the trillion dollar bailouts ... more
I listened to the Food episode which was quite interesting. I basically knew the stuff, because I care about our environement and also try to eat like they proposed.
But actually 4 or 5 times advertisements within 30 minutes is a complete dealbreaker for me. I listen to quite a few podcasts and no one of them has a single advertisement.
Xavier takes a humble approach to learning about climate and asks the vulnerable questions that many of us think about & possibly carry guilt about pursuing our adventures. I’ve really enjoyed hearing Johan’s focus on system change rather than asking “the 80% to sacrifice” for lasting impact. Thanks for using your platform for this discussion, Xavier.
Great new take on what’s happening in the world and especially with regards to winter from experts on climate & a legend in snowboarding!
Gave me something to think about - a great listen! Can’t wait for more episodes!
Really great to see Xav using his platform to discuss such important issues. Prof Johan really knows his stuff and I learnt a lot already about climate change, corona and positive action we can take.
