Join mathematician Professor Hannah Fry and science creator Michael Stevens (Vsauce) as they dig into the weird scientific questions that often go unexplored. Welcome to The Rest Is Science, a show that sits in the fascinating space between what we think we know, and what we actually know. Why do we assume we understand things like time, randomness, or even gravity? Once you start questioning thes... more

They both say ‘like’ a lot. Hannah at least once every sentence. It’s quite annoying
I've been a fan of both of these people for a long time (more H than M I guess). For Hanna, following the devastating disintegration of original Curious Cases with Adam Rutherford, it's a huge step up from the unmentionable irritation of the shell of a show that is the current iteration of Curious Cases (oh for goodness sake just put that show out of its misery!). The back and forth with Michael is good. There is one problem however. Their knowledge and comfort zones are too similar. Too many ca... more
Wonderful fun and intellectually stimulating. The hosts successfully manage to approach scientific issues with a genuine sense of nerdy curiosity and provide a rich tapestry of surprising facts and theories
Amazing concept, has the potential to be good but as it stands, most of the episodes are hard to listen to as they tend to show off items, that if you have no idea what they’re talking about can be hard to follow along with and imagine.
Also some of the topics discussed are too complicated and complex for a casual listen driving. I was expecting this to be a podcast around things the everyday person knows of and can relate too, not mathematical numbers and equations.
Really enjoy Hannah and en... more
I’ve hoovered up at least half of the episodes in about 4 days. I think people who like Radiolab or Ologies will love it. The subjects they cover are interesting and I find the tangents (Vsauce style) fascinating. Michael’s effervescent and Hannah’s more considered personality, and their respective breadth and depth of knowledge, make every conversation fun to listen in on.
