Q: Is there a difference between personal best experiences or expectations based on skill level?
No, whatever your personal best is, it's about finding an area that holds that size fish.
S2 E42 | Hunting A Personal-Best Striped Bass With Pete Utschig
Q: What's your advice for someone hunting for their personal best striped bass?
Get a location that you know well, where big fish are likely to be and be patient in that spot for the best chance at success.
S2 E41 | Change your lure and catch a fish right away, but why?
Q: If this starts to happen, do you change your behavior?
Yes, I do change my normal procedure and allow a few casts with the same lure before switching to a completely different one.
S2 E41 | Change your lure and catch a fish right away, but why?
Q: What do you think is going on in that particular situation?
It's one of the phenomena that I still don't have a comfortable answer for that I believe, even after experiencing it frequently.
S2 E40 | Needlefish, Banana Plugs, and Kayaks With Dave Anderson
Q: So have you ever fished needles where you thought there were mackerel? How did you approach that?
While focused on catching fish with typical lures, I adapted by using a mackerel-colored beach master wad after noticing the fish weren't responding to standard plugs.
