The original, unique, engaging cross country ski podcast. We ask tough questions to elite athletes, investigate scientific research, and occasionally venture off to talk about the broader intersection of sports and culture as well.

Not only the best podcast within shovel lake county, but the best period anywhere. Great interviews and insights!

I suggest that Ryan invite Jessie Diggins and Gus Schumaker onto his pod to tal... more
The intros and outros are too long, but all the stuff in the middle is great. Like the opinions and takes. Glad I don’t have to scour the web for the info that’s provided. Keep it up, from another guy from Minnesota.
Great podcast, really appreciate your passion for the sport. Cheers
I love the podcast. Thanks for the insight.

A Nordic-focused interview show that features deep-dive conversations with elite cross-country skiers, race directors, and industry experts. Episodes commonly explore training philosophies (including double-pole technique and gear strategies), race experiences from domestic marathons to international circuits, and the evolving landscape of ski racing, equipment, and youth development. Noteworthy is the mix of high-level athletic insight with practical industry perspectives from waxing shops, race management, and media coverage, often balanced with candid personal stories and forward-looking ideas for the sport.
