  • God is universal

I write this due to the misuse and abuse of a song title inappropriately used to justify a viewpoint online. Christians are all over the world not just in the UK. I am sure the podcasts are interesting but perhaps one might want to review a title regarding Brexit. Also the song title used is from someone based in the USA???

  • Edward Stourton

A lively and deeply informative interview about the nature of impartial broadcasting with one of my preferred Sunday broadcasters. Well posed questions which effectively drew out the inner layers of the guest’s thinking and Christian standards.

  • Great and Hopeful Podcast

Hello from Australia! I’ve found this podcast to be very hopeful and inspiring. Hearing the stories and testimonies of people who have followed Jesus and have lived out the Bible has made me think about my own journey of faith. Not only that, but it gave me time to relax and not think “theologically” or “intellectually”, but to just listen to a conversation from someone with a Christian perspective. Really great, thank you Premier Christianity!

Wonderful interview by Sam with the new Archbishop. What a warm and inspirational character. Thank God for calling people like him to the “higher offices.” Martin (In Barnsley)

Great interview by Sam with Peter Hitchens. Why is Sam not taking over from Justin on Unbelievable? ( not that I’m not enjoying the guest moderated shows)

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Leadership Special Keith Foster: ‘When leading requires transition’
Q: So Keith, you've been entrusted with this task of setting up training. You had a kind of, I guess you had a sort of a blank sheet of paper, did you, at the start?
Keith explains the move to formalize and expand training, building on Urban Saints' legacy while creating accreditation, online and campus options, and new streams like chaplaincy and community training to meet changing needs.
Grace Jin Drexel: The Chinese Christian campaigning for her father's release
Q: What was it like growing up as a Christian in China?
Grace describes a minority experience marked by social suspicion, family secrecy, and the challenge of maintaining faith under official scrutiny, yet she also notes the resilience and community that kept her faith alive.
Michael Wakelin: The ex-head of Religious Broadcasting at the BBC talks about representing faith on air
Q: How do you reconcile presenting faith on air with not dominating the narrative as a broadcaster?
I believed the BBC should reflect everybody and avoid restricting the dialogue to one faith. I prioritized interfaith inclusion and literacy, ensuring programmes like Pause for Thought represented a broad spectrum while staying true to Christian faith where appropriate.
Michael Wakelin: The ex-head of Religious Broadcasting at the BBC talks about representing faith on air
Q: What prompted your move from BBC researcher to head of Religion Broadcasting, and what were the core challenges?
Passion for gospel music and storytelling, plus opportunities to shape programming, drove the ascent. The toughest period came with reorganisations and political shifts within the BBC, which ultimately led me to new ventures and the creation of the Religion Media Centre to improve religion reportage.
Michael Wakelin: The ex-head of Religious Broadcasting at the BBC talks about representing faith on air
Q: How did your early life and exposure to multiple cultures influence your approach to faith in media?
Growing up between London, East Africa, and the UK, faith was in my bones, but I learned early that media must represent a mosaic of beliefs. This shaped my conviction that religious literacy—understanding terms, practices, and motivations—was essential for responsible broadcasting.
