  • Intellectually satisfying & challenging

As a christian who grew up atheist and now a seminary student, constantly bouncing between the two walls of atheism and hyper-Calvinism, I’m always seeking the truer truth. This is one of the most intellectually satisfying & challenging podcasts I’ve come across. Really appreciate everyone’s effort! Thank you!

  • Balanced and fair

Host gave admirable and fair treatment to both sides. So refreshing today. I presume both guests left satisfied with their treatment and portrayals which I think has the side effect of giving credence to the host and show at large and perhaps the implicit worldview they espouse that guides it. In simpler words, the kindness and intellectual honesty of the hosts helps lead me into a more sympathetic view of their own views which ironically is a more pathos approached evangelical method than eithe... more

  • Unfollowing

It’s always good to know where you stand with people, and this latest episode on Charlie Kirk has sealed the deal for me! To call a man who had very hateful views someone who is admirable is incredible. God did not spread hatred, Charlie did.

Not everyone who calls themselves a Christian is so, and that can even go as far as the people on Premier “Christian” Radio. Disappointed, but not surprised. Goodbye!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

What would it take for Alex O'Connor to believe Jesus rose from the dead? Trent Horn v Alex O'Connor
Q: What would it take for you to believe in the resurrection, Alex?
Alex suggests that a personal Damascus-like experience or a clearly verifiable demonstration from first-hand witnesses, possibly including living individuals who could corroborate, would be influential but admits that even with such testimony he might still require careful evaluation of competing explanations before committing to faith.
AI and the Future of Humanity | Nigel Crook vs Andy Bannister hosted by Sam McKee
Q: Can AI really create like humans?
AI can generate content and art by recombining data and statistical patterns, but it lacks lived experience, consciousness, and intrinsic intentionality, which differentiates it from human creativity; therefore, AI can simulate creativity but not replicate the full human creative process.
Classic: When Leaders Fail with Karen Swallow Prior & R.C. Sproul Jnr
Q: What is your reaction when you hear another well-known person in ministry suddenly, obviously reputation-tainted, ministry affected by scandal?
Karen emphasizes that while personal failure is real and painful, the church must scrutinize institutional structures that enable abuse, ensure victims are heard first, and avoid returning to leadership roles too quickly without demonstrating real change.
Classic: From Chaos to Code: Do we need a new theory of Life? Paul Davis vs Jeremy England
Q: Why is information considered a physical quantity in this discussion?
Because DNA and RNA encoding requires an information channel, and treating information as a physical variable helps describe how life coordinates complex processes and evolves.
Classic: From Chaos to Code: Do we need a new theory of Life? Paul Davis vs Jeremy England
Q: What is Schrödinger's key idea about life and thermodynamics?
Life seems to contravene the simple picture of the second law, not by violating it, but by maintaining internal order through energy throughput and exporting entropy to the environment.
