  • Intellectually satisfying & challenging

As a christian who grew up atheist and now a seminary student, constantly bouncing between the two walls of atheism and hyper-Calvinism, I’m always seeking the truer truth. This is one of the most intellectually satisfying & challenging podcasts I’ve come across. Really appreciate everyone’s effort! Thank you!

  • Balanced and fair

Host gave admirable and fair treatment to both sides. So refreshing today. I presume both guests left satisfied with their treatment and portrayals which I think has the side effect of giving credence to the host and show at large and perhaps the implicit worldview they espouse that guides it. In simpler words, the kindness and intellectual honesty of the hosts helps lead me into a more sympathetic view of their own views which ironically is a more pathos approached evangelical method than eithe... more

  • Unfollowing

It’s always good to know where you stand with people, and this latest episode on Charlie Kirk has sealed the deal for me! To call a man who had very hateful views someone who is admirable is incredible. God did not spread hatred, Charlie did.

Not everyone who calls themselves a Christian is so, and that can even go as far as the people on Premier “Christian” Radio. Disappointed, but not surprised. Goodbye!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Can Philosophy Prove God Exists? Joshua Sijuwade on Evil, Trinity & Atonement
Q: Could you explain for the audience a Kalam argument here?
The Kalam argument starts from the claim that whatever begins to exist has a cause, applies that to the universe which began to exist, and concludes the universe has a cause; however, Premises about a beginning are contested, and Craig's use of science is not universally accepted; the most robust form is still debated.
Do We Have Free Will? Joe Folley and Nathan Hawkins Debate Determinism, Choice and Moral Responsibility
Q: How might empirical science, such as neuroscience, inform or challenge the concept of free will?
The guests argue that neuroscience does not straightforwardly negate free will; there can be deterministic processes with indeterminacy at the neural level, and brain activity can correlate with decision-making without proving that choices are unfree; a nuanced account that includes top-down informational causation and the limits of current measurement is favored.
Do We Have Free Will? Joe Folley and Nathan Hawkins Debate Determinism, Choice and Moral Responsibility
Q: What are the three main positions in the free will debate, libertarianism, compatibilism, and no free will?
Libertarian free will posits that agents can genuinely choose among alternatives and often incorporate a sourcehood element; compatibilism argues that freedom can exist even in a determined world by focusing on meaningful options and internal constraints; the no free will camp contends that determinism or randomness makes genuine freedom incoherent, though the presenters oppose this view and emphasize the complexity and wiggle room within deterministic or non-deterministic frameworks.
Alex O’Connor vs William Lane Craig: Does God Exist? The Ultimate God Debate
Q: How does Hawking and Penrose's work influence the Kalam argument?
They are cited to show a beginning to the universe, while noting non‑singular models (Hartle–Hawking) that still imply a finite past.
Alex O’Connor vs William Lane Craig: Does God Exist? The Ultimate God Debate
Q: What is the central evidence Craig uses to argue for the existence of God?
Craig builds a cumulative case from six exterior arguments, notably the beginning of the universe, mathematics, and fine‑tuning, strengthened by historical claims about Jesus' resurrection.
