  • Too smart for his own good

Been a huge fan of WLC for many years however he’s now a liberal academic / intellectual who over analyzes everything. It’s disappointing to hear him today talk about Genesis being a myth. WLC believes one must be a scholar to understand the Bible and ignore the plain meaning. We apparently cannot interpret the Bible with the help of him and other elite theologians.

  • Good Apologetics, unfortunate politics

Longtime listener here. While I have a deep appreciation for Dr Craig and his work, I have noticed politics slowly creeping their way into the podcast. I view this as unfortunate but a sign of the times in America, I continue to listen, but with much less gusto as of late.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

It's Time to Talk About Time, Molinism, and God's Name
Q: What is Dr. Craig's opinion towards existentialist philosophy and Kierkegaard in relation to faith?
He discusses how Kierkegaard emphasizes a leap of faith and argues for a reasonable faith grounded in rational justification, while acknowledging the existentialist critique of meaning without God but maintaining a religious interpretation as superior for human fulfillment.
It's Time to Talk About Time, Molinism, and God's Name
Q: Does a Christian have to be a Calvinist or an open theist in order to be logically consistent on this issue of divine foreknowledge and human freedom?
He argues that Arminianism and Molinism are libertarian in their view of freedom and that foreknowledge does not necessitate determinism, countering the claim that all three views are deterministic.
It's Time to Talk About Time, Molinism, and God's Name
Q: Next question from Australian. Dr. Craig, would it be a good thing for all religions other than Christianity to disappear from the face of the earth?
Dr. Craig argues that the disappearance of other religions would only be good if it occurred through a voluntary, transformative embracing of Christ by adherents, not through coercion or violence, and he envisions universal salvation as the outcome.
Question of the Week #989: Can Frankenstein Be Saved?
Q: Could extraterrestrial intelligences be redeemed through faith in Jesus Christ?
Yes, but only if their nature allows participation in the redemptive means God enacted through the incarnation; if they do not share a human nature, redemption would require a specially tailored means expressed by God, recognizing the limit of the typical human-centered atonement.
Question of the Week #989: Can Frankenstein Be Saved?
Q: If such a being were not a biological descendant of Adam, and therefore not part of the fallen human race in the traditional sense, could it nevertheless be redeemed through faith in Jesus Christ?
The argument presented is that the incarnation binds redemption to a shared human nature; without that shared nature, the standard atonement would not automatically apply, though God could in principle provide a salvation tailored to non-human beings if they are capable of faith or receptivity to grace.
