  • Must-listen

The STR podcasts are must-listen for me. They are so good at addressing lies, misunderstandings, and false teachings on today’s social media malaise. They have helped me understand the wrong presuppositions embedded in modern thought: materialism and subjectivism.

  • Always Informative

I must’ve been listening to this podcast since 2020, I suppose. Heard about it from Jack Hibbs.

Greg and Amy are a great team and both of them bring terrific insight to common objections against Christian doctrine, and they tackle some of the current cultural issues.

They’ve consistently produced a couple of shows a week, which I enjoy listening to each Friday.

    Thanks to the STR team.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Can You Explain Verbal Plenary Inspiration When the New Testament Writers Quote the Septuagint?
Q: How should we handle passages like John 7 53 through 8 11 and Mark 16 9 through 20 that seem to have been added to the original biblical manuscripts?
The witnesses agree that these endings are not canonical or original to the earliest manuscripts, so they should be treated as historical but not as holy writ; when reading, one can acknowledge their presence without treating them as scripture.
Where Did Jesus Go When He “Ascended into Heaven”?
Q: If I will not see or hear from Jesus while I'm alive, is it going to be like that after I die, too?
An explanation that believers will have ongoing communion with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, but the mode of that relationship may differ; assurances that seeing Jesus is affirmed in scripture while acknowledging the mystery of post-mum state experiences.
Where Did Jesus Go When He “Ascended into Heaven”?
Q: If annihilationism is true, then wouldn't Jesus cease to exist at the cross since he was receiving hell/god's judgment for the elect?
A discussion clarifying distinctions between the nature of Christ's atonement, the wrath of God, and annihilationist claims, arguing against the idea that Jesus' punishment equates to annihilation and offering resources for further exploration.
Where Did Jesus Go When He “Ascended into Heaven”?
Q: Do you think God has returned or he will return?
A critique of the Preterist view, arguing that historical fulfillment does not imply that the final return has already occurred, and affirming the ongoing future expectation of Christ's return.
Where Did Jesus Go When He “Ascended into Heaven”?
Q: Where did Jesus go when he ascended quote, into heaven in Acts 1?
A discussion that the heavens function as the place associated with the Father, and that Jesus' ascent communicates being with the Father rather than a literal spatial relocation, with emphasis on analogical language about authority and future hope.
