  • Must-listen

The STR podcasts are must-listen for me. They are so good at addressing lies, misunderstandings, and false teachings on today’s social media malaise. They have helped me understand the wrong presuppositions embedded in modern thought: materialism and subjectivism.

  • Always Informative

I must’ve been listening to this podcast since 2020, I suppose. Heard about it from Jack Hibbs.

Greg and Amy are a great team and both of them bring terrific insight to common objections against Christian doctrine, and they tackle some of the current cultural issues.

They’ve consistently produced a couple of shows a week, which I enjoy listening to each Friday.

    Thanks to the STR team.

What Is Your Best Answer When Asked to Prove God Exists?
Q: Why did God make us? What is the purpose of creation?
Argue that God's purposes include revealing goodness and love, expressing His glory through creation, and that creation serves to display and magnify God's character rather than being a necessity for God's own fulfillment.
What Is Your Best Answer When Asked to Prove God Exists?
Q: Why not just give evidence and not insist on a strict proof standard?
Agree that evidence can support theism; emphasize inference to the best explanation and the need to match the type of evidence to the question (empirical for events, historical for past actions, philosophical for existence).
What Is Your Best Answer When Asked to Prove God Exists?
Q: What is your best answer when an atheist asks you to prove God exists?
Explain that 'proof' has many definitions and is not a one-size-fits-all standard; provide evidence-oriented arguments (cosmological, teleological, moral, historical) and frame it as asking for the best explanation rather than absolute proof.
What Is the Difference Between Believing and Knowing?
Q: What kind of evidence counts for testing the existence of God, especially if not through repeatable laboratory experiments?
Evidence comes from a combination of empirical signs, historical testimony, fulfilled prophecy, miracles, and reasonable inferences like the cosmological and teleological arguments. Not all knowledge needs repeatable experiments; different domains require different standards of evidence.
What Is the Difference Between Believing and Knowing?
Q: How would you understand the difference between believing and knowing from a biblically informed Christian perspective?
Believing is holding that something is true, while knowing requires justification — a justified true belief. There are multiple ways to justify knowledge, including testimony, direct experience, historical evidence, and scriptural authority, not solely empirical verification.
