    Starhawk is a venerable wise elder; like my Romanian grandmother- and myself, a Jewish witch. We come from a culture of survivors who learned to survive by a combination of cleverness (critical thinking skills) and compassion (cultivating wisdom to put thought into action guided by the heart).
