  • Great insight into Mexican current affairs

As an expat living in Mexico City this podcast is a great resource for understanding the country. The interviews are well executed and the topics/guests well chosen. Not just useful for getting out of the expat bubble but the shows are fun and entertaining.

  • Great podcast!

I have listened to quite a few episodes. The newer episodes, in particular, are very good. I like that the guests have the time and space to delve deeply into different sup-topics. It provides a very good explanation of complicated issues.

  • # of words?

Why does this guy always ask his guests to describe things in a certain number of words? Your listeners aren’t idiots. Just ask, “How would you describe x?” Incredibly annoying format.

Q: What word would you use to describe the Mexican media ecosystem when you started, and how has it evolved since then?
It started as submissive but evolving, with regional openings and a seed of independence in the 1990s and 2000s, which gradually expanded as digital media rose, though the legacy press later faced decline and co-option through advertising changes.
