  • Knowledgeable, genuine, helpful

I love this podcast! The episode titles are clearly labeled so you know exactly what he’ll discuss and the topics are very niche, not the same overdone conversations on other fitness podcasts. This one gets into the nitty gritty. Jeff’s also just a stand up guy. I asked him a question on Instagram and he took the time to talk through it with me without trying to sell me on his coaching. He’s one of the good ones, really just in it to help the rest of us get stronger and healthier. ❤️❤️

  • Excellent show for all things Fitness & Health

I’m always dropping in here for the latest on fitness and health. With a degree in ESKHP and many years of personal exercise/nutrition experience plus personal training, this is one of the best go-to resources especially since I don’t work around this field currently.

Thanks for the great show Jeff!

Does Cardio After Lifting Prevent Muscle Growth, Fat Loss Mistakes, 4 Week Training Cycles and More w. Brandon DaCruz | Ep 743
Q: What's a belief you've changed your mind on recently?
Deloads have shifted from rigid, pre-programmed weeks to more auto-regulated approaches based on biofeedback and performance trends.
Does Cardio After Lifting Prevent Muscle Growth, Fat Loss Mistakes, 4 Week Training Cycles and More w. Brandon DaCruz | Ep 743
Q: Is switching programs every four to six weeks harming progress in group coaching?
Yes, because muscle growth relies on sustained overload; excessive variety can hinder hypertrophy, so longer cycles (12 weeks or more) with predictable progression are more effective.
Does Cardio After Lifting Prevent Muscle Growth, Fat Loss Mistakes, 4 Week Training Cycles and More w. Brandon DaCruz | Ep 743
Q: Is it possible to maintain muscle built previously without progressive overload?
Yes, but maintenance requires sustaining high enough intensity even with lower volume; gradual reductions in volume must still preserve near-failure effort to protect tissue.
Does Cardio After Lifting Prevent Muscle Growth, Fat Loss Mistakes, 4 Week Training Cycles and More w. Brandon DaCruz | Ep 743
Q: What are the most common dieting mistakes holding people back from a lean physique?
Overemphasizing calories while ignoring food quality, failing to track intake accurately (BLTs, bites, licks, tastes), and misestimating calories from popular 'healthy' foods; using quality food with adequate protein and fiber helps sustain a deficit.
Does Cardio After Lifting Prevent Muscle Growth, Fat Loss Mistakes, 4 Week Training Cycles and More w. Brandon DaCruz | Ep 743
Q: Does cardio after lifting prevent muscle growth?
No, not in a meaningful way for most people; the key is managing intensity, load, and recovery, and if needed, separating cardio and resistance sessions or using lower-impact modalities.
