  • Excellent and informative

I love the variety of topics. I have bought several books after hearing the author interviews. Charlie gives an expert presentation of current events in Israel and the Middle East. His devotions are like a virtual tour of Israel only better since they all point to deepening understanding of the Bible. The questions and answers are so interesting. I have learned so much and grown in my faith from listening to this podcast. I look forward to each new episode.

Suffering in Scripture
Q: How could God have allowed kings like David and Solomon to have multiple wives against His design?
God's focus was addressing idolatry rather than the specifics of marital structure, and He allowed it during the Old Testament period for that reason.

Mephibosheth would have experienced social isolation and judgment from others, as he lived in a culture that viewed disabilities negatively.
Suffering in Scripture
Q: What does that tell us about Paul's suffering and the way he responded to it?
Paul suffered because that thorn was given to him by God to keep him from becoming conceited, teaching him and others to rely on God's grace.
Stories from Syria
Q: How does the situation in Syria impact your prayer life?
It wakes us up at night, calling us to prayer for the deep, dark struggles happening there, as well as the stories of victory.
