  • Great theology

I have been listening to Janet Parshall for over 10 years now, she really helped shaped my theology and open my eyes to the crisis in the Middle East. Her reminder to have the Bible in one hand and newspaper in the other is very prevalent and Janet’s show provides quality guests, great commentary, and encouragement for Christians around the world. I listen to many podcasts now, but no one feels like home like in the market with Janet Parshall.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

What Is Biblical Theology?
Q: How does biblical theology differ from a standard theological approach to Scripture?
Biblical theology starts with the text itself, focusing on the historical context and the authors' own theological messages, and then synthesizes these into canonical, thematic, and ethical understandings rather than applying a fixed systematic framework from the outset.
God Alone
Q: Can you explain the difference between the incommunicable and communicable attributes and why it matters for believers?
Incommunicable attributes are God's alone (like omniscience, omnipotence, eternality) and should drive worship and awe, while communicable attributes are those we can share in part by grace through Christ, guiding how we live as disciples.
God Alone
Q: What does it mean when you say God is independent, and why is that significant for us?
Independence means God is self-sufficient and does not rely on creation; this humbles humanity, underscores God's sovereignty, and liberates believers from the illusion that they are indispensable to God's purpose.
God Alone
Q: So break it down for us. What does it mean when we say that God is omnipotent?
Jonathan explains that omnipotence means God is all-powerful, though He does not always act in ways we would expect or desire; true power is demonstrated through biblical revelation and the resurrection of Jesus, which confirms God's ultimate authority and plan.
Jesus, The Messiah
Q: What are the core methods used to share the gospel with Jewish people in Israel?
The three pillars—Go and Tell, Come and See, Love and Serve—drive street proclamation, events and literature, and service-oriented outreach like mikumi to help the vulnerable, creating entry points for conversations about Jesus as the Messiah.
