  • Great theology

I have been listening to Janet Parshall for over 10 years now, she really helped shaped my theology and open my eyes to the crisis in the Middle East. Her reminder to have the Bible in one hand and newspaper in the other is very prevalent and Janet’s show provides quality guests, great commentary, and encouragement for Christians around the world. I listen to many podcasts now, but no one feels like home like in the market with Janet Parshall.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The Gift of Life
Q: What are the ethical concerns around dementia care and minimal comfort feeding?
The hosts and Wesley Smith describe minimal comfort feeding as a slow form of euthanasia that withholds basic sustenance to end life sooner, challenging notions of humane care and autonomy.
The Gift of Life
Q: How does the panel view the concept of free will?
They explore Sapolsky's view of no free will, contrasting it with a belief in moral agency rooted in being made in God's image, and discuss the implications for accountability and meaning.
The Gift of Life
Q: What is the significance of the Fifth Circuit and the Supreme Court in telehealth abortion litigation?
The discussion explains that Louisiana challenged telehealth abortions, the Fifth Circuit issued a stay, and the Supreme Court later intervened, signaling potential limits on telehealth abortion access and the likelihood of a final ruling in favor of states.
Sadness versus Depression
Q: Is there a test for bipolar?
There is no blood test for bipolar. Diagnosis relies on careful history-taking and observation of symptoms such as manic or hypomanic episodes, including elevated mood, decreased need for sleep, and rapid speech; a history of these can indicate bipolar depression, which requires different management than unipolar depression.
Appealing To The Conscience
Q: How do you respond to objections about Jesus being the only way and the inclusivity of other faiths?
Ray argues that all religions with works-righteousness try to earn everlasting life, but the Bible presents Jesus as the mercy of the judge; the only way to salvation is through Christ's sacrifice, not human effort.
