Came across this podcast and being from Pittsburgh and 1st generation, I had to listen! I can relate to the foods of our ancestors. The convo about everyone fighting over the āeyeballsā was hilarious. In my motherās hometown they called a guy āFugadutzā (everyone had a nickname) which means Liversausage apparently. Loved this episode & also excited as an Italo-Australian that this show will exist. HOWEVER I donāt think the hosts have done enough research into ALL Italo-Australians around Australia. They are from WA - perhaps they need to do their research as the Italians in the eastern states of Australia may be more ātraditionalā..
I love these podcasts. I am first generation Italian American (my parents were born in Abruzzo and Campania), so to me itās like sitting around the table with cousins who bring āa guestā to Sunday dinner. Some make me laugh out loud, some make me think, and some teach me things that I didnāt know. I have been listening for about two years now and enjoy every episode.
