Credit for trying, but I couldn’t get into it. Narrative is hard to follow, and the host is too pedantic. Information seems fine (and I applaud the effort in gathering it), but the podcast is just not enjoyable. History podcasts are always worse at the beginning than what they become, but the starting point here is too low. Discussion of Jason and the Argonauts was especially hard to listen to. Another review says “This is the best podcast on Georgia, unfortunate it’s the only podcast on Georgia” and I have to agree.
I really wanted to like this show, and I love history, but this lacks a strong narrative and host.
Rather than building an engaging story of Georgia this is a dry recitation of facts that is more like reading a history text book than anything else. He drops in so many names, dates, battles, other historical figures etc etc that there’s nothing binding it all together and... more
