Subscribed and unsubscribed within three minutes. I had high hopes based on a UTD referral, but listening to grown adults spend several minutes joking about shaved balls told me everything I needed to know. I’m looking for content from mature, serious dive professionals—not people who never outgrew a Beavis-and-Butthead phase. I would never sign up to dive with people like this but, hey, if that kind of humor is your thing, you may enjoy it—but it’s very much not for me.
I do not recommend this show if you wear split fins, take life too seriously, and hate Arnold Schwarzenegger impressions.
I especially don’t recommend the pee fog!
I DO, however, recommend this show for anyone who loves diving. As a newbie diver I have learned a lot from their in-depth conversations about diving based on real life stories from around the world as well as their own experiences. Topics that were only barely touched on in my open water dive class have been discussed in greater det... more
I am listening to The Great Dive Podcast here im Switzerland. My favorite month is the cave dive month. Nice how you speak up and call out the industry and its stupid low level instructors. I enjoy you humor and super informative content. Keep it up and continue being your authentic selfs. Cheers out of the swiss mountains.
I got hooked with the David Shaw experience. Now I’m listening to the series from the beginning, really enjoying it. There’s a lot of knowledge and entertainment to be glean from this podcast. Really well done.

I love hearing stories about demise by hubris - and this is kind of baked into the cake for divers: you have to be confident when diving BUT ALSO don’t get overconfident. Bad things can happen.
So funny: “3 month cave diving special” and “t... more
