  • Terrible sound, where is the video?

Want to like it but can’t bear to listen. This is clearly a video production that has forgotten that people need to be able to understand the audio. Aside from that complaint, it seems like it would be interesting if I could stand to listen to it. The list of guests is a who’s who of industry insiders who probably have a lot of experience. But the introductions are not quite enough in audio, I’m not familiar with these people and the transcript doesn’t offer that much to go on. I’m quite ... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Ep. 255: FIRST LOOK -> The All-New 2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid with e-POWER
Q: How is Nissan positioning this vehicle against rivals like the Toyota RAV4 or Honda CR-V hybrids?
Nissan differentiates itself with e-power technology that provides a distinct driving feel—more electric-like and less engine-on maneuvering than traditional hybrids—coupled with strong fuel economy and acceleration, which should set it apart in the hybrid SUV segment.
Ep. 255: FIRST LOOK -> The All-New 2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid with e-POWER
Q: All right. What is so special about this Rogue Hybrid, Christian?
The Rogue Hybrid is powered by e-power technology, meaning the system is driven by battery and motors with the gasoline engine acting as a generator to power the battery. This delivers electric-car performance with the convenience of a gasoline engine, offering instant torque, quiet operation, and a unique driving experience that doesn't require plugging in.
Ep. 256: VW/Scout Taken To Court By CA Dealers, Rivian Wins In Washington As AFEELA Meets Its End
Q: What piece of advice would you give to other state dealer associations regarding their statutes and direct sales by OEMs?
Review and tighten statutes to ensure they properly regulate vehicle sales, particularly addressing direct sales by OEMs that already have franchisees, because the competition implications could threaten the entire dealer network if these practices become more widespread.
Ep. 256: VW/Scout Taken To Court By CA Dealers, Rivian Wins In Washington As AFEELA Meets Its End
Q: What are you looking at in terms of a final resolution to the court claims? Ballpark estimate of what it's looking like.
Litigation is protracted, with court timelines extending over many months; the focus is on ensuring VW and Scout are held to account before vehicles reach consumers, but a final resolution will likely take substantial time given the complexity and priorities of federal court dockets.
Ep. 254: This Is Not A Drill: ~1.1M Used EVs Will Flood the Market In The Next 3 Years, Now What?
Q: Where do you see collaboration or parallels between two major players in this space?
John: collaboration is about adding to what exists rather than replacing it; it's about enabling more customers who couldn't buy before by offering a mechanism that expands dealer and OEM capabilities.
