  • Great show, one request

Really like this one. Timely reviews of the latest and greatest news in EV world, delivered in language that’s accessible and even-handed. One request—when you’re reviewing EV sales figures for any period, it would be better if you also briefly walked through overall car sales figures (and even better if you broke that down by comparable classes of vehicles). Helps to better determine if Americans were/weren’t buying new EVs during a certain period or if they just were/weren’t buying new cars g... more

  • C’mon guys

I know you know that the rest of the world has moved on without us with regard to EV tech. And your focus on the debacle that is the US market is unavoidable. But your timidity in the face of these twin truths makes your podcast pretty weak sauce. Most recently you gave an extended defense of your coverage of Tesla, and it did sound quite defensive. If ever a company was objectively doomed, it is this one. They cannot compete with the Chinese makers and their stock valuation is based on a cult o... more

  • Good podcast but need to focus more on products rather than your political feelings

I enjoy listening to your podcast—always engaging and informative. However, I felt that the comments about Elon Musk weren’t necessary and gave the impression of bias, rather than focusing on facts and balanced opinions - just wanted to share this feedback for consideration.

  • No Political agendas

Guys! Guys! Guys! Stop with the political put downs. There are 2 parties in this country one is not all good and one is not all bad. Just stick to Cars. That being said I think that if the tax credit goes away that Tesla will be the first company to lower the prices voluntarily 3500-7500. Elon himself said Tesla doesn’t need the tax credit to sell cars.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Telo’s Tiny Truck Has 350 Miles Of Range. But Can The Company Go The Distance?
Q: How does the MT1 manage charging and battery performance given urban charging realities and the need for long-range capability?
The truck uses a high-energy battery pack designed to fit within a small footprint, with an 800-volt system and 400-volt compatibility to maximize charging speed and everyday usability, along with thermal management to sustain battery health and range.
Telo’s Tiny Truck Has 350 Miles Of Range. But Can The Company Go The Distance?
Q: Why did you choose to pursue a mini-truck form factor with a four-door layout and high payload in an urban setting?
The idea was to combine packaging efficiency with usable interior space to fit the needs of urban buyers who want a four-door truck with real payload and capable highway performance, while maintaining a compact footprint for tight city environments.
We Rode In The $24,950 Slate EV Truck... Will It Actually Succeed?
Q: Can you say more there about the range and how the battery choice impacts usability?
The guest explained that the 205-mile figure, achieved with an LFP pack, is a pragmatic compromise given the truck's price and US charging infrastructure, pointing out that usable range is affected by charging behavior and the decision to go with a cheaper, denser pack.
We Rode In The $24,950 Slate EV Truck... Will It Actually Succeed?
Q: What did you think? In your mind, did you have a prediction for what the price was going to be?
The guest noted that expectations settled around mid-20,000s after the tax credit went away, and the final price of $24,950 confirmed a surprising alignment with early speculation, reinforcing the car's value proposition relative to rivals.
Do EV enthusiasts care about the Ferrari Luce? Plus, Is Nuro Prepared To Win The Autonomy Race?
Q: What is Nuro and how is it different from other autonomous vehicle companies?
Nuro is an open, platform-based autonomy company focused on deploying AI-powered, driverless systems that can power a variety of applications, from robotaxis to goods delivery, using the NeuroDriver rather than a tightly integrated consumer vehicle approach.
