Was it meant to be funny? Maybe if you think laugh at speech impediments... Absolutely destroyed Chandler in the pod I heard and his delivery is very very poor. If he can't be bothered neither can I! Sometimes I hate the smug supercilious style of The Guardian. Give it a swerve. Thumb fatale!?!
Stumbled onto this, and downloaded the comments on books I had read. They were so funny, so eccentric, and in their way insightful, I downloaded them all, and quickly listened to them. The discussions by critics were fair and thoughtful, and, typically, kinder than the digested summary of the book, but a perfect corrective. I have only good to say.
Wickedly satirical? No! Pompous , smug , cheap and lazy? Yes!
What a fanny!
Even though the opinions offered have merit on occasion the way they are presented is more often than not just too smarmy to enjoy. The review of Douglas Couplands 'Generation X' criticises all characters and as a result the author for thinking they are all too clever for this world, I would instead level that critique at this podcast without doubt.
Be kind to your ears, avoid
