Consistently a funny and excellent show. The guys are great and I always look forward to new episodes. Keep up the great work, guys!
I was most interested to hear The Dixie Dogs were inbound on the podcast. But what a disappontment from this DP diehard.i own most of the DD’s records and come and go with them, but you really failed to grasp both what they did and why it matters. You chronically mistake instruments and Sound modifications you hear. I could list about ten you got wrong, but why ? You wouldn’t care, even though it’s your job as “experts” to know such things. more
Show is good!
This is a great podcast. Deep Purple have always had a rich blend of genius and flaws, so the basic material is inherently fascinating. The two presenters are genuine fans and treat the band and its many offshoots and tentacles with humour and good judgement. I particularly appreciate that they give the Mark 4 lineup the respect it deserves. more
Nate and John are highly knowledgeable, but also love to incorporate knowledge from other fans. Not only have I learned more about and relived Deep Purple’s catalogue, I’ve discovered other related artists like Whitesnake and Schenker. Nate and John always keep the show light and funny. Their humor is truly contagious. If you miss late college nights listening to music and sharing liner notes with friends, this podcast will put you back in touch with this part of your musical heart.
